The problem statement is: "Represent the grid patterns in [the the figure linked below] with a dither matrix."

The figure is: https://www.docdroid.net/d90WXko/figure.pdf

Apparently, according to the book, the correct answer is as follows.: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%7B%7B0,2%7D,%7B3,1%7D%7D

I watched this video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IviNO7iICTM ), which was somewhat helpful, but I'm still unable to do the problem.

Could someone please show me how to do it step-by-step (because I have no teacher to ask, since I'm not doing this for school or anything like that)? Like, which parts of the image of the figure do I even look at, when working out the values of the (dither) matrix? This problem is not numeric as in the YouTube video linked above.

Any input would be GREATLY appreciated!

Edit: Is there enough information to answer the question?

Edit: Why the downvote?

  • $\begingroup$ I'm not the downvoter so I can only speculate. One thing that could help your question is to flesh it out more directly on this site so it is possible to answer without visiting multiple other links. Do keep the references though! $\endgroup$ – bernie May 13 at 9:43
